Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Applies to this marketing website, accuwriterpro.com
What this covers
This website uses the Meta Pixel, an advertising tag from Meta Platforms, to measure how our ads perform and to show Accuwriter ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this site. California law calls that “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you have the right to opt out of it. AccuWriter does not sell personal information for money.
When it loads, the Meta Pixel can receive:
- the pages you view on this site and the page you came from;
- that you completed one of our sign-up forms (not what you typed into it);
- browser, device and network information, including IP address;
- cookie identifiers, including Meta’s own cookies if you use Facebook or Instagram.
The Accuwriter inspection application does not use advertising tags. Inspection reports, photos, client and property information never reach advertising partners.
Your setting
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Meta Pixel does not load unless you choose “Allow advertising cookies” on this page. We work out your country from your IP address when the page loads; only the country code is used, and the IP address is not stored for this purpose. If we cannot tell your country, we treat you the same way. The same applies to Google Analytics. When you allow or withdraw, we record a random ID, the time, your country and the policy version as evidence of your choice; we do not record your name, email or IP address. You can withdraw your consent here at any time.
Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a setting in some browsers and browser extensions that tells every website you visit not to sell or share your personal information. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out on every page of this site, automatically, and neither the advertising tags nor Google Analytics load. GPC is different from the older “Do Not Track” setting, which we do not rely on.
What opting out does, and does not, do
- It stops the advertising tags from loading on this site in this browser, starting immediately. No account, form or personal information is needed.
- It is remembered with a small cookie (
aw_ads_optout) that we renew each time you visit. Because it is stored in this browser, it does not carry over to other browsers or devices, and clearing your cookies removes it. GPC, if you use it, works on every browser where it is turned on. - When you opt out we also delete the Meta cookies this site set in your browser
(
_fbp,_fbc). Cookies that Meta sets on its own websites are not ours to delete. - It does not delete information Meta already received before you opted out. Meta handles that under its own privacy policy, and you can manage your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.
- It also stops Google Analytics (which we use only to measure visits, with Google’s advertising features turned off). It does not affect the emails you asked us to send.
